Beyond raw data licensing, there's an entire remote workforce that labels images, rates chatbot responses, writes reference answers, and reviews model outputs for quality — usually contracted through data-labeling platforms rather than the AI labs directly. Pay is typically hourly or per-task and varies widely by platform, task complexity and your subject-matter expertise (technical, medical, legal and multilingual backgrounds pay more). It's real, verifiable work — but treat any platform requiring an upfront fee to "get approved" as a red flag; legitimate platforms don't charge workers to join.
